Assist Hammersmith in centering punches Assist in maintenance of the industrial power hammer or press during breakdowns Sweep scale while processing jobs to keep die clean Position punches on parts with tongs Hold sizing blocks and mandrels during part processing Measure and assemble sizing blocks Manually roll parts as required during processing Move material using powered industrial trucks Open and close furnace doors Operate quench tank Operate powered industrial trucks Change shoes and pins on manipulator as needed Drive the manipulator as directed by the Hammersmith Periodic cleaning of press pit Complete equipment logs prior to use each shift Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Knowledge of metal work processes acquired through formal academic training and/or experience earned through past employment
- Ability to measure parts using standard measuring devices
- Above-average reasoning and thinking skills
- Possess a team attitude and have respect for others
- Basic computer skills for data entry
Responsibilities

- Operate powered industrial trucks
- Change shoes and pins on manipulator as needed
- Drive the manipulator as directed by the Hammersmith
- Periodic cleaning of press pit
- Complete equipment logs prior to use each shift
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
