About The Position
THE CITY OF LEAWOOD, KANSAS is looking for a Half Day Camp Director Are you ideal for working as a Half Day Camp Director at Leawood? Are you 21 years of age OR older? Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills? Are you reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment? Are you ready to make some extra money for the summer? Do you have experience working with Children? Able to work independently, collaboratively with a team, and effectively with the public? As the Half Day Camp Director, you will work: Approximately 20 – 30 hours per week between 7 am and 1 pm. Weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays. The camps will run from mid June through the end of July. Hours are required during camp sessions, with additional time needed each week for camp preparation. Requirements

Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination, organization, supervision, and delivery of a comprehensive recreational day camp program, including arts and crafts, drama, sports and life skills, language-based activities, dance, and music.
- Ensure the safety and appropriate supervision of campers and staff, working with children ages 5–11.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings to collaborate on lesson plans and programming for the upcoming week.
- Oversee daily camp operations, including supporting camp counselors, leading activities, maintaining attendance and activity records, and ensuring a safe camp environment.
