About The Position
THE CITY OF LEAWOOD, KANSAS is looking for a Half Day Camp Counselor Are you ideal for working as a Half Day Camp Counselor at Leawood? Are you 18 years of age OR older? Possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills? Are you reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment? Are you ready to make some extra money for the summer? Do you have experience working with Children? Able to work independently, collaboratively with a team, and effectively with the public? As the Half Day Camp Counselor, you will work: Approximately 20 – 30 hours per week between 7 am and 1 pm. Weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays. The camps will run from mid June through the end of July. Hours are required during camp sessions, with additional time needed each week for camp preparation. Requirements
- 18 years of age OR older

Responsibilities
- Assist the Half Day Camp Director with the coordination, organization, supervision, and delivery of a comprehensive recreational day camp program, including arts and crafts, drama, sports and life skills, language-based activities, dance, and music.
- Ensure the safety and appropriate supervision of campers and staff, working with children ages 5–11.
- Promote a safe, structured, and positive environment by supporting appropriate camper behavior and ensuring health and safety during all activities.
