How this role will be impactful The HACCP Superintendent is responsible for leading and driving the culture change for unyielding Food Safety and regulatory compliance within the Farmer Focus team. Identifying, developing, and maintaining all SVO Food Safety plans, policies, audits, and other tasks designated to the coordinator by the manager. Verifying all SSOP/HACCP paperwork, the plant GMP’s, and other pre-requisite programs daily. Maintaining a strong and positive relationship with USDA. Proactively monitoring the production floor to identify problems before they develop and implement strategies for improvement of processes. Responsible for taking an active role in the coaching and development of technicians and QA Supervisors by providing consistent feedback and guidance. Analyze data to ensure compliance to current standards and for continuous improvement opportunities. Plan, promote and organize training activities related to food safety and quality. Delegates tasks and sets deadlines for the FSQA Team to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Act as the subject matter expert while supporting cross-functional teams in process deviations, corrective actions and preventative measures, complaints and other food safety and quality metrics. Assists the QA Manager in handling local, state, customer, third party and federal audits and inspections. Ensure product is produced in compliance with internal specifications, customer expectations and government regulations. Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external business partners. Interacts with USDA personnel and customers as directed by senior management.

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. degree (or equivalent) in Food Science, Meat Science, Poultry Science, or related field required
  • HACCP Certification required
  • Over 4+ years of relevant experience in a similar position
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve quality issues
  • Cross-functional team leadership skills including the ability to coaching/mentoring
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Workday
  • Must be able to work in a variety of settings including the office, outside grounds, and the Plant production floor
  • Ability to travel to multiple Plant locations throughout the day
  • Possibility of being exposed to varying conditions in the Plant setting, such as cold areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions
