About The Position

Ascension Wisconsin is seeking a Full-Time Gynecologic/Oncology physician to join their elite team at Columbia St. Mary's Milwaukee. This facility is located in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSAs) and/or Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/P). This role offers the opportunity to lead the development of a comprehensive Gynecologic Oncology service line with strong institutional support, seamlessly integrate into a well-established OB/GYN provider group, and utilize advanced technology like the DaVinci Xi (DV5) robotic platform and full surgical suite capabilities. The physician will engage in collaborative, multidisciplinary care with Surgical Oncology, General Surgery, and Medical Oncology teams in an integrated, patient-centered model, supported by experienced nursing, mid-level, and administrative staff. Participation in the Ascension OBGYN residency program as faculty is also an option, and a dedicated Gyn/Onc PA will assist in both office and surgery. Requirements

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible Gynecologic/Oncology physician.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians.
  • Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
