About The Position

Advanced Practice Provider – Surgical OR – Gynecologic Oncology Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider to join the gynecologic surgical service line team working at our Piedmont Atlanta campus and Gynecologic Oncology clinic. This is a full-time position with varying call responsibilities. Responsibilities In this role you will: Applies specialized skills and knowledge related to the care of patients in the CVOR, ICU, CCU and CVICU areas Contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting and provides leadership to the organization Assesses patient and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribes necessary treatment and services for quality patient care. Takes patient histories, conducts physical examinations, writes progress notes, prepares patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings, obtains psychosocial history relevant to patient care, and assumes responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients. Orders and schedules laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedure(s) to the patient, patient’s family, and staff. Monitors progress of patients, reports progress to supervising physician, and maintains record of each patient’s progress, consulting with supervising physician when patient’s progress does not meet anticipated and/or predetermined criteria Piedmont Benefits:

Requirements

  • Masters, Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification --or-- Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform first OR assist duties
  • Rounding on patients in the hospital
  • Assist in management of post-operative and critically ill patients in the hospital
  • Evaluate post-operative patients in the office setting
  • Applies specialized skills and knowledge related to the care of patients in the CVOR, ICU, CCU and CVICU areas
  • Contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting and provides leadership to the organization
  • Assesses patient and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribes necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
