The LSU Health Sciences Center Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking applicants for a Gynecologic Oncologist at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure, clinical track). Responsibilities will include teaching of medical students and residents involving lectures, clinical instruction in the office and the operating room, and informal teaching sessions. Clinically relevant research activities are also expected. Clinical activities will include the evaluation and treatment of malignant and pre-malignant conditions of the female pelvis as well as surgical therapy for complex benign gynecologic disease. Excellent procedural skills with the full range of gynecologic oncology procedures and treatment modalities are required including surgical and systemic therapies required. Experience with invasive office procedures, and minimally invasive and robotic training are required. Tremendous practice development opportunities exist particularly in concert with the LSUHN (the faculty group practice) and the LCMC Health System, comprised of a University Medical Center, several community hospital facilities, and Children’s Hospital of New Orleans. Applicants with enthusiasm for clinical trial participation and with program-building experience or practice management skills are especially sought.
