Job Summary The Gulf Coast Trader plays a critical role in delivering commercial value by marketing company production and executing disciplined natural gas trading strategies across the Gulf Coast region. This role is responsible for the continued effective management of a Louisiana focused natural gas portfolio and associated storage and transportation assets, while ensuring adherence to risk management and compliance standards. Positioned within the Global Gas and Power Business Unit, the Trader, Gulf Coast operates at the center of market analysis, trade execution, and relationship management. The role partners closely with commercial, operations, scheduling, and risk teams, as well as external counterparties, to generate profit, avoid undue market or operational risk, and drive portfolio optimization in a dynamic trading environment. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Science, a related field, or foreign equivalent
  • 3 or more years of experience in natural gas trading or closely related commercial activities
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work bid week, as well as occasional weekends and/or holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience trading, scheduling, or marketing natural gas in the Gulf Coast region
  • Advanced level of knowledge of Gulf Coast and Louisiana natural gas supply, demand, and pricing fundamentals
  • Advanced understanding of the Gulf Coast pipeline grid, hubs, and interconnecting regions
  • Strong working knowledge of risk management concepts and tools used in commodity trading environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and deliver high‑quality service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Track record of delivering on commitments and producing accurate, timely commercial deliverables
  • Strong understanding of natural gas contracts and commercial structures
  • Ability to anticipate issues, apply sound judgment, and execute decisions effectively in a fast‑paced trading environment
  • Demonstrated collaboration and effectiveness within a team‑oriented trading floor setting
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on dedications by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
  • Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals

Responsibilities

  • Continued effective management of the Louisiana and broader Gulf Coast natural gas portfolio to support margin realization and portfolio optimization
  • Identifying, evaluating, and executing disciplined natural gas trading and marketing strategies aligned with commercial objectives and risk limits
  • Proper oversight and optimization of company‑owned and third‑party gas storage assets to enhance optionality and portfolio flexibility
  • Providing reliable and competitive market access for company natural gas production across Gulf Coast markets
  • Maintaining and expanding strategic relationships with customers, suppliers, pipelines, storage operators, and other market participants
  • Ongoing adherence to risk management, compliance, and internal control standards
  • Protection of P&L through disciplined execution and avoidance of undue market or operational risk
  • Ensuring executed trades and confirmations accurately reflect agreed commercial terms and support timely settlement and reconciliation
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to align trading activity with operational capabilities, market conditions, and business priorities
