About The Position

Provides cultural information through demonstrations and lectures, and teaches songs, dances, crafts, games and cultural phrases to guests.Learns how to create, maintain and/or do repairs of moderate difficulty on cultural artifacts, buildings, and props using a variety of equipment and materials.Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Must be in good health and have a voice that can endure up to four hours of speaking in any given time frame
  • Must be capable of moving freely among the guests and be capable of a full range of body movement.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Must know the basics of playing the ukulele.
  • Must look Polynesian.
  • Must attach resume and current semester's class schedule (weekly view).
  • Should be knowledgeable about the culture being represented.
  • Should be able to speak the language of the culture being represented.
  • Should be a high school graduate.
  • No prior work experience necessary.
  • Must be on island & submit a copy of your CURRENT semester class schedule (weekly view) and resume.
  • Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations

Nice To Haves

  • Should be knowledgeable about the culture being represented.
  • Should be able to speak the language of the culture being represented.
