Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Guidance, Navigation & Controls Engineer Summer 2026 Intern. In this role, you will learn skills that will aid in spacecraft orientation and controls, develop controls code through various tools and platforms, and perform system tests to ensure valid results, and support. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of MATLAB and C,C++, and will be able to understand the dynamics of controlling spacecraft in space. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a BS Degree (or higher) in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline focusing on control system design and analysis
  • Academic background in Spacecraft Controls and Dynamics with some experience preferred
  • Experience/knowledge of simulation and programming tools (ex. Matlab/Simulink, C++, Python)
  • Ability/willingness to obtain a security clearance at a later date
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with flight software development and autocode to C++
  • Experience working with Smallsats
  • Familiarity with a GN&C hardware suite for space applications
  • Mission operations experience
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly
