About The Position

In this Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer (Staff, Level IV) position, we are seeking an experienced GNC Engineer who will serve as a Line of Sight (LOS) SME. The role specifically is looking for a specialist in the subject of optical line of sight (LOS) jitter analysis for precision pointing spacecraft to support multiple satellite buses including, but not limited to, the LM400 and LM2100 satellite series. In addition to an expertise in the field of LOS jitter analysis, the candidate should have familiarity with GN&C subsystem architecture, systems engineering, disturbance modelling, dynamometer testing, space vehicle jitter testing, requirements flow down, early program design and analysis, structural analysis, Damping, Dynamics Modeling, Modeling Uncertainty factors, LOS jitter analysis and time/frequency domain analysis. Successful applicants generally have at least 6+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline, such as Aerospace Engineering or other related field.

Requirements

  • Possess advanced domain experience in spacecraft controller design and optimization.
  • Experience in developing and verifying performance of simulation models in simulation environments using programming tools that include MATLAB/Simulink, C++
  • Possess advanced domain experience in LOS modeling and analysis.
  • Specialist in the subject of optical line of sight (LOS) jitter analysis for precision pointing spacecraft
  • To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI (adjudicated or eligibility) is required for consideration.
  • Top Secret security clearance with adjudicated SCI (i.e. TS/SCI) is required prior to start.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated good communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
