About The Position

The Guestroom Attendant maintains a safe and clean environment for the guests and staff of the The Blackwell Inn at Fisher College and Pfahl Hall; cleans guestrooms, meeting rooms, offices, restrooms and public areas; cleans doors, staircases, walls, mirrors and light fixtures; operates electrical cleaning equipment; maintains floors and carpets; moves furniture; washes windows; removes trash; clears snow; cleans building entrances and walkways; evening and weekend work is required; hours vary, and work schedule is determined by the guest activity in the building. This is a full-time position for an operation open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and does require evenings, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Six months in Custodial Worker 1 title or equivalent experience
• documentation of successful completion of department specific, advanced custodian certification testing (examples include Cleaning Management Institute, 3M(TM) S.M.A.R.T. Program, or other certification program recognized in the cleaning industry as reputable)
• ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and to read and write common vocabulary plus

Nice To Haves

• Strong customer service skills and related work experience in an upscale hotel desired
• flexibility to perform a variety of tasks, read directions, and perform basic computer inquiries desired
