The Guest Transportation Operator is responsible for providing safe, timely, and courteous transportation for AREA15 guests and team members. As a guest transportation operator, you will ensure a reliable transit experience by operating designated vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and company safety standards. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, customer-service driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment. This position plays a vital role in supporting daily operations, special events, and crowd flow throughout the AREA15 district.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass a background check, driving records, and other screenings as required by company policy.
  • Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in shuttle or tram driving, professional driving, commercial transportation, or a related field involving guest-facing transportation services.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, must provide a 3-year DMV driver history report.
  • Valid CDL is required, T - Doubles/Triple Trailers and P – Passenger endorsements preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to pass mandatory (or random) drug testing per company policy, unless prohibited by state law.
  • Ability to operate a shuttle or tram safely in high-traffic pedestrian areas.
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests, staff, and management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and over radio.
  • Self-starter with a professional, friendly, and safety-conscious attitude.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods during shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, extreme cold.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in transportation, shuttle driving, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local area and district layout is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate shuttle or tram vehicles to transport guests and team members to designated locations, ensuring timely and efficient transportation while following all traffic laws and AREA15 safety standards.
  • Perform thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, inside and out, to ensure a welcoming, guest-ready experience.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with boarding and exiting, including guests with mobility needs, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the ride.
  • Perform daily and other routine inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
  • Troubleshoot minor vehicle issues and follow equipment manuals and safety protocols.
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
  • Create ART! (AREA15 customer service standards) experience and tell stories about AREA15 and its offering.
  • Communicate regularly with operations and management teams regarding shuttle needs, route updates, delays, vehicle concerns, guest feedback, schedules, and any operational issues.
  • Monitor and address guest safety while the vehicle is in motion, enforce rules and promptly report any safety concerns or incidents.
  • Support transportation needs for special events and peak traffic periods, including route adjustments and crowd control as needed.
  • Accurately document vehicle logs, inspection reports, and incident details as required.
  • Assist with special events, crowd control, and other transportation-related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate ART! (AREA15's service standards) in every guest interaction.
  • Adhere to department and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, polished appearance in line with AREA15 standards.
  • Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
