The Yakama Nation Tribal School Guest Teacher plays a vital role in ensuring instructional continuity and a safe, supportive learning environment when regular classroom teachers are absent. Guest Teachers are expected to maintain the integrity of established classroom routines, engage students in meaningful learning, and represent Yakama Nation Tribal School with professionalism and respect for the cultural values of our community. Examples of Work Performed: Provide instructions and supervision consistent with lesson plans, expectations, and classroom norms established by the regular teacher. Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment that supports students' learning and well-being. Uphold Yakama Nation Tribal School policies, procedures, and cultural expectations. Manage classroom behavior in a calm and consistent manner aligned with schoolwide PBIS and MTSS principles. Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with students, staff, and families. Maintain confidentiality of student and school information. Report student incidents, attendance, and other relevant information to the principal or designee at the end of each assignment. Demonstrate adaptability and reliability when called upon, sometimes on short notice. Assignments may very be grade level and content area (8-12). Work performed in classroom and school environments with frequent student contact. On-call schedule determined by school needs.
