Must be able to use a computer to navigate various websites at one time, work independently, as well as the ability to stand, bend and lift up to 25 lbs at one time. This position is a year-round Sunday opening position with a starting date beginning of March. There is opportunity for additional replacement shifts, as well as holidays. JOB SPECIFIC INFORMATION This position is a year-round part-time position. The District is currently looking for Sunday availability from 6:40am - 12:15 pm. A minimum age of 18 is required Part-Time Wages ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Responds promptly to telephone and in-person patron inquiries by providing general information and directing callers to the appropriate person Checks patrons’ ID cards and checks out towels Receives and processes court reservations and usage involving payment by cash, credit cards, checks, debit cards, and gift certificates while maintaining appropriate cash controls Maintains a good working knowledge of the club’s offerings and answers patron questions accordingly Balances batches at the end of the shift Receives payments for pro shop purchases by cash, credit cards, checks, debit cards, etc. Notifies teaching pros of private lesson cancellations or other schedule changes Maintains a neat front desk area and performs light cleaning and tidying, as needed Requests supplies from the Racquet Club Manager or Racquet Club Assistant Manager Maintains cleanliness of the locker room by vacuuming, cleaning sinks, mirrors and counters, emptying trash receptacles, removing debris from the locker room floor Maintains cleanliness of the lounge areas (1st and 2nd floors) by vacuuming, cleaning viewing windows and tables, straightening magazines, emptying trash receptacles, and checking, cleaning and restocking coffee area in the 1st floor lounge Maintains cleanliness of the front desk by dusting counters and straightening items on the wall Stocks the Pro Shop by filling in merchandise, as needed, and re-hanging tennis shorts, refolding tennis shirts, and straightening the tennis shoes displayed Launders and restocks towels as needed Maintains cleanliness of the laundry room by dusting off the washer and dryer, and straightening up the lost and found Maintains a good working relationship with members and visitors to the Tennis Club at all times Monitors both tennis and racquetball court lighting and turns off when appropriate (no patrons) to conserve energy Completes closing duties as outlined; specifically ensuring the building is secure; all doors locked and checked Attends work on a regular basis Performs the job safely and in compliance with District policies, procedures, work and safety rules, and the employee handbook Maintains a clean and organized work environment Additional functions as assigned which may be considered essential BENEFITS WE OFFER PTAC Membership to ARC Discounts on some programming KinderCare Discount This position must possess the following qualifications: High school graduate or G.E.D Must have weekend and night shift availability Ability to work a year-round schedule with a variety of work hours CPR (Child and Adult) and First Aid Certification required within 30 days of employment; CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification preferred SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS Standing for sustained periods of time while completing work Repetitive hand/arm movements such as when working on a computer keyboard, calculator, etc. Some bending, kneeling, and reaching for items off the floor and high shelves Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. in paper boxes, racquet club merchandise, storage boxes, and other supplies AHPD OVERVIEW The Arlington Heights Park District (AHPD) is a public park and recreation agency located in Arlington Heights, Illinois—one of the largest communities in Chicago's prestigious northwest suburban corridor.
