Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in hospitality.
  • Proficiency in English and multilingualism will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.

Responsibilities

  • The Guest Services Representative will greet patients with the highest level of courtesy, professionalism, and warmth when they arrive at Mountainside Medical Center reception areas.
  • The Guest Services Representative will ensure a consistent level of outstanding customer service in the following areas: greeting patients and visitors, providing assistance in navigating the hospital, resolving concerns and problems, and escalating issues to the appropriate person when needed.
  • Greet patients and visitors in a kind and friendly manner at all times.
  • Handle and direct incoming calls from the public regarding patient location and phone number.
  • Monitor flow of visitors and vendors in the Front Lobby, ensuring that all are greeted immediately and directed to their destination in a timely fashion.
  • Perform other position-appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Ensure that the Guest Services Desk is kept clean, organized, comfortable, and suitable for its use, with all the equipment and furniture kept in good working order.
  • Serve as a resource person for volunteer staff, making a special effort to work well with the volunteers and understanding the diversity of the group that they work with.
  • Act in an appropriate, courteous, and professional manner at all times. Especially when faced with resistance.
  • Uphold visitation and other applicable policies, procedures, guidelines, and restrictions of the hospital while being respectful and courteous to a diverse audience.
  • Keep the standards of HIPAA when dealing with the release of patient information.
  • Record and deliver flowers/mail to the patient rooms.
  • Utilize the computer terminal and other applicable systems.
