JOB SUMMARY Performs receptionist duties in lobby and waiting room areas. Greets, assists and directs patients and visitors. Key Job Responsibilities Essential Function Provides customer service and receptionist support, answering information telephone calls, greeting visitors and providing information and assistance. Responds to inquiries and communicates information in accordance with established policies and procedures. Provides room numbers to callers and visitors. Generates and provides badges to visitors and maintains visitor logs. Interacts and communicates with hospital staff, patients, visitors and external representatives in a customer responsiveness and courteous manner in compliance with iRESPECT standards and promoting patient/customer satisfaction. Makes routine and emergency announcements/notifications using intercom and radio paging system. Responds appropriately to emergency situations and notifies appropriate personnel. Transports and distributes records, documents and materials to other information desk and/or areas. Maintains confidentiality in matters relating to patient/family, department and hospital information. Adheres to established departmental and organizational policies (i.e. HIPAA, Confidentiality and Compliance Policies). Remains knowledgeable of hospital guest services policies, procedures and operations. Monitors the lobby area and waiting rooms. Maintains a clean, orderly, safe environment for patients and personnel. Adheres to established policies, compliance/quality improvement, patient safety, environment and infection control standards. Performs data entry and typing as required; may be required to utilize computer system to input and retrieve data. Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements. Provides coverage for relief and absences as required. Demonstrates flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays to provide continuous coverage as required.
