About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), is looking for a Guest Service Ambassador to join their Patient Services team in Springfield, MA. This role is vital in enhancing the patient experience by ensuring every meal is delivered with care, accuracy, and a focus on individual needs, going beyond clinical treatment to include compassion, comfort, and personalized service.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Basic math and computer skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
Excellent verbal communication and customer service mindset
1-2 years' experience in customer service
Ability to multitask

Nice To Haves

Experience in hospitality/food services industry strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Assist patients and families with menu selections that align with Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) orders
Provide guidance and recommend appropriate food choices and alternatives
Communicate patient concerns or intake issues to nursing and Clinical Nutrition teams
Accurately assemble and deliver meals, snacks, and supplements in compliance with diet orders and allergies
Verify patient identity using dual identifiers during delivery
Ensure trays are complete and assist patients with setup when needed
Coordinate meal delivery with nursing staff for point-of-care patients
Follow safe food handling practices, including proper hygiene and temperature control
Maintain clean workspaces (“clean in, clean out”)
Practice First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory methods
Record meal intake, supplements, fluids, and calorie counts as required
Track trays and report any issues promptly
Stock and replenish tray line supplies and maintain inventory levels
Process commissary orders to ensure consistent availability of food items
