About The Position

Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone. Amerstar has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel, and more. Ameristar also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar is seeking a Guest Room Attendant. The successful candidate will responsible for the cleanliness and condition of our beautifully appointed guest rooms. We are seeking candidates who love attention to detail and will provide first-class service to our hotel guests in an exciting 24/7 casino/hotel environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to clean as directed at an acceptable performance rate.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations, if required.
  • These skills and abilities are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training.
  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with guest inquiries and complaints.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Must be available to work some nights, weekends and holidays.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Six (6) months previous cleaning and/or hotel housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides superior guest service, positively effects interactions with guests and team members and has the resiliency to deal with all types of situations in an energetic 24/7 environment.
  • Cleans hotel rooms, hallways, linen rooms and storage areas in the hotel towers, as directed.
  • Maintains and cleans all equipment used throughout the course of a shift, as directed.
  • Maintains proper documentation of all duties accomplished during a working shift, as directed.
  • Reports all safety hazards or maintenance deficiencies for proper handling.
  • Abides by all security measures.
  • Greets all guests throughout shift with the proper salutation and pleasant expression.
  • Assists guests with issues that are within their control, ensuring guests' satisfaction while operating within established guidelines and policies.
  • Ensure the qualities of the rooms are upheld by producing the best service.
  • Assisting the Houseperson on department projects, as needed.
  • May help provide training to new team members related to job duties.
