About The Position

Create a first impression of welcome and warmth to all of COSI’s Guests and set the mood and tone for each Guest’s experience at COSI by providing encouragement to explore the Exhibition Areas and to purchase tickets for our VR experience, AR Holographic Theater, Traveling Exhibits, and COSI Memberships. Provide training assistance and leadership for Guest Relations Associates, Interns, and Volunteers.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate is a mature, responsible, dependable individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment; is a people-oriented and satisfaction driven person; can handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and possesses a flexible schedule.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to make sound decisions quickly and professionally; and a cooperative and flexible nature are essential.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and trustworthy; with the ability to transmit a welcome greeting while handling cash transactions in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, operate a ride that simulates motion, with or without reasonable accommodation, and work outside in inclement weather.
  • A working knowledge of banking systems and basic countdown procedures is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome each and every Guest and group to COSI by being attentive and providing a positive first impression, while providing a superior level of Guest Service by being a positive role model in punctuality, dress, and attitude.
  • Encourage Guests to become COSI Members or purchase add-on tickets to the VR Simulator, Verse: AR Holographic Theater, or Traveling Exhibits.
  • Help Guests maximize their visit by providing information to Guests regarding programs, demos, and shows; hours of operation; cost of admission; etc.
  • Distribute amenities and perform sales at a concierge desk.
  • Direct Guests in person and over the telephone as appropriate.
  • Perform the daily check-in of all reserved groups, both inside and outside of the building.
  • Maintain a safe and courteous environment while operating COSI’s VR and AR experiences.
  • Be fiscally accurate by balancing their cash drawer at the end of each shift as well as completing reports.
  • Timely and accurately complete countdown forms regarding the safe and the finance portion of the closing checklist.
  • Responsible for monitoring the money management of safes; i.e. order change, verify reporting, maintain checks and balances, and keep safety measures in check.
  • Work to support COSI’s mission and vision to provide equitable and inclusive experiences for diverse audiences and guests of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
  • Empty and deposit funds associated with the lockers, Jacob ’s Ladder, Vortex, Tornado Simulator, change machine, and other coin collection areas.
  • Provide immediate assistance to Guests and team during emergency situations under the direction of the Guest Supervisor on Duty (GSOD).
  • Work in conjunction with the Guest Relations Team Leads to provide training and direction to all Guest Relations Associates. Provide support in training and coaching interns and Volunteers.
  • Attend training sessions, and various other general COSI meetings.
  • Perform daily in accordance to the service and sales standards as outlined by COSI and the Guest Relations Team.
  • In accordance with COSI's Guest Services Strategy, and as opportunities present themselves, provide excellence in Guest Services serving as an example of the COSI Guest Services Strategy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Guest Relations, Manager of Guest Relations, and/or the Guest Relations Team Leads.
