About The Position

The Guest Experience and Special Projects Coordinator plays a key role in supporting visitor engagement and operational readiness for the Dot Experience, the world’s most inclusive museum, scheduled to open in October 2026. This position serves as a primary point of contact for guests, partners, and internal teams, ensuring a welcoming, organized, and accessible experience for all. Responsibilities will evolve leading up to and through the opening of the Dot Experience, with opportunities to contribute to special projects that advance APH’s mission and culture of belonging.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to perform mostly sedentary work and regularly lift 5–10 lbs. (mail and packages).
  • Self-starter with a guest-first mindset who embodies a culture of belonging.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year certificate or training from a college or technical school.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience using assistive technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage requests and scheduling for tours, outreach programs, and events.
  • Maintain accurate visitor data, contact lists, and related records.
  • Track and manage expenses associated with guest experience activities.
  • Coordinate directly with schools, institutions, and individuals regarding program details.
  • Manage the APH general phone line and email, routing inquiries to appropriate staff.
  • Greet vendors, visitors, potential customers, and applicants in person and via security system monitoring.
  • Receive mail and packages and notify internal staff of deliveries.
  • Support special projects, including outreach to schools for promotional campaigns and accessibility training for staff.
  • Adapt to evolving duties leading up to and through the opening of the Dot Experience in October 2026.
