About The Position

The primary job goals of the GSRP Team Floater are to support the teaching teams in providing high quality services to students enrolled in the program; give relief time to teaching staff to work on child assessment and lesson planning; and serve as a substitute staff as needed . Assignment location will rotate daily. Coverage area Van Buren ISD GSRP preschool classrooms throughout the district. Assignment may include lead teacher substitute, associate teacher substitute or relief staff roles. Location and role may change during the school year based on program needs.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood or Child Development OR Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required
  • Complete all childcare and school related background checks (required)
  • Reliable transportation to travel daily between sites (VBISD mileage reimbursement protocol will be implemented)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and program
  • Experience working with persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Training and experience in COR Advantage®
  • CPR and First Aid Certified
  • Previous work experience in early childhood is preferred.
  • Preference to candidate with knowledge of the Great Start Readiness Program services.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the lead teacher.
  • Participate in preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing needed materials and supplies under the direction of the lead teacher in each classroom.
  • Support teaching team in gathering observations and data to support child assessment.
  • Serve as official substitute staff for lead or associate teacher when assigned to that role.
  • Assist with general housekeeping and food preparation tasks.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to GSRP.
  • Treat all children and their parents with the ultimate respect and dignity.
  • Attend all meetings and recommended training programs and professional development.
  • Maintain confidentiality about children and their families.
  • Supervise and participate in outdoor play.
  • Participate in recordkeeping: attendance, meals/snacks, assessment s, screens, etc.
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
