About The Position

Vertiv is seeking a seasoned professional to join our Sales Operations team as a GSA (Global Strategic Accounts) Bid Manager. This highly impactful role supports Vertiv’s ability to effectively respond to Regional and Global GSA sales bids, enhancing our support across the multi-tenant data center, hyperscale, and switchgear/busbar segments. Operating independently with high-level direction, this individual will leverage deep experience, business acumen, and cross-functional coordination skills to manage a wide variety of bid projects. Projects handled in this role are often complex and may have a significant, long-term business impact. The GSA (Global Strategic Accounts) Bid Manager will partner with GSA Directors, GSA Sales Specialist, technical experts, pricing and tax professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and strategic responses to GSA bid requests. This individual will participate in developing or recommending enhancements to internal processes, policies, and tools that improve bid management effectiveness. The role includes precedent-setting problem solving and may include mentoring of newer colleagues as Vertiv continues to scale its GSA bid capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, operations, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in sales operations/bid management.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales operations, proposal/bid management, and/or business coordination supporting large accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects of large scope with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are important.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while supporting GSA Directors and GSA Sales Specialists.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with CRM, CPQ, and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Sales Cloud and Order Management) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate GSA bid qualification (go/no-go analysis) and bid responses, ensuring alignment with customer objectives and Vertiv business priorities.
  • Actively lead bid kick-off meetings and drive alignment across internal teams to promote accountability and results.
  • Maintain and monitor the GSA bids in the Bid Desk Smart Sheet, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
  • Anticipate additional needs and proactively address gaps in bid execution.
  • Support internal decision checkpoints and executive approvals for high-value or complex bids.
  • Ensure accurate and timely collaboration among stakeholders: GSA Sales Specialists/Directors, Technical Business Development, GSA Execution Teams, Pricing Analytics Team, Product Strategy, and Sales Operations.
  • Manage cross-functional hand-offs and maintain clear communications across GSA teams to foster collaboration and innovation.
  • Proactively build strong relationships across the GSA Sales Organization and other Vertiv Organizations to facilitate and lead bid coordination.
  • Act as primary liaison for global or regional bid initiatives, resolving conflicts and aligning stakeholders toward shared goals.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Tax teams to ensure proposals are compliant, commercially sound, and reflect responsible risk management.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, engineering, and product teams to validate lead times, manufacturing capacity, delivery feasibility, and technical accuracy.
  • Ensure bid assumptions, exclusions, and operational commitments are clearly documented and communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and lead implementation of enhancements in bid operations if approved by Sales Operations leadership.
  • Capture lessons learned and maintained reusable content libraries, templates, and best practices to drive efficiency and quality.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to colleagues on bid strategy, governance, and execution excellence, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Track bid performance metrics and provide actionable insights to support continuous improvement and stronger business outcomes.
