About The Position

This role is responsible for supporting professional employees working in an organizational function related to the Intern's area of study. Depending on the internship assignment, the intern may work alongside engineers, scientists, or industry professionals to contribute to various projects related to their area of study. Under guided supervision, interns will assist with various projects and tasks, contributing to the organization's goals while learning from experienced professionals in the field. This position is responsible for working directly with the corporate development leadership team and the company's leadership team on all aspects of strategic finance and corporate management. Responsibilities will include strategic, financial, and analytical support for the management team for new and existing projects. Of primary importance is strategy development and partnerships, financial analysis (potentially to include capital formation and M&A), and collaboration with the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering or a related field.
  • Typically, five to seven years of work experience in management consulting, private equity, project finance, investment banking, development, and/or the power/energy/infrastructure sectors.
  • Advanced level of experience with strategy development (e.g. market and competitor analysis, opportunity identification and exploration, business case development and evaluation, etc.).
  • Advanced financial modeling capabilities.

  • Demonstrated financial modeling capabilities.
  • Expert skill level in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have the right to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to team’s views on corporate development opportunities and associated strategy development related to new business ventures, customer-facing service lines, capital formation, M&A and strategic partnerships, etc.
  • Lead the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities, listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document, without close supervision and some latitude for independent judgment.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to more junior team members with the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document.
  • Shares knowledge related to industry best practices and standards with others across the team.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify key drivers, and recommend strategies for optimization.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to tackle the variety of new challenges faced by a growing energy transition company.
  • Support senior leadership in preparing presentations and materials for meetings with executives, board members, and investors.
  • Build cogent financial models in Excel and concise presentations in PowerPoint.
  • Play a key part in driving the culture of a rapidly growing, high performing organization.
  • Support departmental leadership with other activities related to the financials of current projects.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
