About The Position

This position facilitates the success of Beck’s Soybean and Wheat Grower Program and provides high quality seed for conditioning. Requirements

Bachelor of Science in an agricultural related field preferred.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy preferred.
CDL or Chauffer license or equivalent may be required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Possess positive attitude.
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, work as a team member, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
Basic computer and current software skills.

Overnight travel may be required based on project needs at Beck’s regional locations and may vary in duration of time.
One to two (1-2) years’ experience in field planting.
Ability to pass DOT physical examination and obtain Medical Examiner’s Certificate may be required.

Responsibilities

Receive soybeans and wheat delivered for seed.
Assist in taking calls from soybean and wheat growers.
Help set up inspections of soybeans and wheat seed field.
Perform inspections of fields as needed.
Establish and maintain relationships with new and current growers.
Assist in all aspects of grower relations including contracts, acreage allocation, and field quality issues as they arise throughout the season.
Assist in training and educating growers in the policies and procedures required in seed production to provide highest quality seed.
Collaborate with various agencies to assure all standards are met for seed quality.
Maintain current knowledge on planting and harvesting practices as well other environmental issues related to all phases of seed production such as disease, insects, weeds, etc.
Support the Soybean and Wheat Grower Director or Production Location Manager in functions as needed.
Perform other related duties as may be required by the Soybean and Wheat Grower Director or Production Location Manager.
