Join our team at sg360º and take the first step toward a rewarding career! We are looking for a motivated and dependable individual to join our Sample department as a Group Lead. Our company is seeking a Group Lead for 1st shift (6am to 2pm). This individual is responsible for the monitoring production processes and assisting in directing personnel in accomplishing production goals as delegated by the Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is desirable
  • Previous experience in finishing operations
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stand or walk for entire shift.
  • May be exposed to hot/humid and/or dusty work environment
  • May be exposed to controlled non-toxic chemical mists or vapors
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

  • Review all job information before each shift and stay current on work running in assigned areas.
  • Consult with previous-shift Group Leader/Supervisor to understand job status and any special circumstances.
  • Confirm every running machine has supervisor signoff and a customer-approved sample.
  • Account for all versions of each job (completed, pending, quantities run, etc.).
  • Use the run list, job knowledge, and personnel familiarity to assign temporary and permanent staff to machines or processes.
  • Coordinate with Supervisors in allied departments to ensure full crewing.
  • Monitor startups to ensure timely production after assignments.
  • Review job requirements with each crew at the start of the shift; answer questions and resolve issues.
  • Observe personnel performance once production begins and adjust crews as needed.
  • With Quality Control, ensure all quality standards are met, including: imaging accuracy, material dimensions, effective and aesthetic closure processes (gluing, wafer seal, tabs, etc.), and compliance with USPS regulations, when applicable.
  • Verify packing instructions and ensure required supplies/equipment are available.
  • Obtain and inspect job labels/tags for accuracy.
  • Direct mechanics on equipment setup for new jobs and confirm stock availability for setups.
  • Record starting and ending production quantities for each machine and shift.
  • Before requesting supervisor startup approval, ensure all job requirements are met; work with QC as needed.
  • Direct floor helpers in assigned areas.
  • Report problems or issues to Supervisors/Managers promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Notify material handlers when finished/packaged material is ready for removal.
  • Coordinate and assist in post-job breakdown of machines.
  • Read and understand the Job Ticket.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
