About The Position

Under close supervision following standard operating procedures and Company policies produce batteries on the line. Typical Duties: Verifies formation tables are open, clean, and ready for batteries. Put open tables into LOAD and while the table is loading un-cables tables that are ready to go out. Cables batteries that have been loaded. Checks for bad cables and disposes of defective cables in proper cans/barrels. Perform any operation in the group when needed. Directs, checks, and records work of group in accordance with specifications and daily schedules Take necessary steps to correct minor difficulties with equipment. Reports on major problems of quality and/or equipment to supervisor Recommend supervision changes or reassignments of personnel to obtain best operating efficiency. Demonstrate leadership ability and is responsible for training or assisting in training new operators. Participate in developing and improving Standard Work Practices for each area and consistently reviews them for effectiveness through team meetings and practice. Keep work area clean and orderly, follow 5S standards. Be able to use basic computer functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math, reading and writing skills
  • Must be able to work all shifts up to 12 hours, as overtime may be mandatory.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • 1+ years of working experience in manufacturing or similar industry desired
  • Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to come in early or stay late depending on production demands
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, uniform, and safety boots)
  • Qualified applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident card holder.
