The Group Controller leads accounting operations across multiple business units, with responsibility for financial reporting, close processes, and overall accounting consistency. This role focuses on standardizing and centralizing practices while ensuring compliance across the organization. A key priority is supporting Burris’ ERP transformation, including bringing legacy business units onto the NetSuite platform. The Group Controller partners closely with Finance, IT, and Operations to align accounting needs with system capabilities and ensure successful implementation and adoption. This position is best suited for a hands‑on leader who is comfortable managing day‑to‑day accounting operations while also supporting system and process improvements. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across business units are essential.

Requirements

  • Experience leading ERP implementations or major system and process transformations, preferably in a multi‑entity environment
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change while improving processes and controls
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams
  • Ability to operate successfully in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with competing priorities
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and employee information
  • Flexibility to meet business needs, including occasional overtime, nights, weekends, or holidays as required
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide accounting operations, including financial reporting, close processes, internal controls, and audit support, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and GAAP compliance.
  • Drive standardization and centralization of accounting processes across business units, including AP, AR, cash management, and close and reporting timelines.
  • Play a lead role in Burris’ ERP transformation by supporting the integration of legacy business units into NetSuite and aligning charts of accounts, reporting structures, and workflows.
  • Partner closely with Finance, IT, Operations, and business unit leadership to translate operational needs into effective accounting and system solutions.
  • Support and develop accounting teams across multiple locations while serving as a trusted liaison between business units and corporate finance.
  • Maintain a strong governance and control environment while driving continuous improvement in processes, systems, and team capabilities.
