About The Position

A lifestyle hotel located in the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is seeking a dynamic Group & Business Transient Sales Manager to drive group and negotiated corporate revenue. This is a key pre-opening sales role responsible for building foundational group and negotiated corporate business from the ground up. The ideal candidate is proactive, market-savvy, and experienced in driving production within a competitive urban environment. This position will play an instrumental role in establishing the hotel’s market presence and supporting revenue ramp-up.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of hotel sales experience (group and/or business transient required).
  • Hilton brand experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in pre-opening, conversion, or ramp-up environments preferred.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with hotel CRM and sales systems (Delphi/FDC or similar preferred).

  • Knowledge of the San Diego market a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively solicit new group and negotiated corporate accounts through prospecting, networking, and outside sales activities.
  • Manage incoming RFPs in accordance with brand and company standards.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and production goals.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to maximize profitability.
  • Conduct site tours, client presentations, and virtual sales appointments.
  • Participate in trade shows and industry events.
  • Identify and secure negotiated corporate accounts within key demand generators.
  • Manage annual corporate RFP process.
  • Build strong relationships with travel managers and corporate clients.
  • Ensure seamless transition of confirmed business to operations teams.
  • Partner with Revenue Management to optimize business mix.
  • Participate in forecasting and strategy sessions.
  • Support development of the annual sales plan.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation and reporting.
