Real Chemistry is a leader in peer-to-peer marketing for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, creating comprehensive communication strategies and plans that deliver superior medical and health education to healthcare professionals across multiple channels. The Group Account Director functions as a senior leader of a vertical within a large pharma anchor or a group of small or midsized companies. The Group Account Director is accountable for providing leadership to the Real Chemistry customer team for a small, medium, or large customer account ensuring that we deliver on the client(s) expectations across their tactical plan, providing quality deliverables, best practices and innovative recommendations. Also accountable for developing and managing the client relationships in the customer account and developing business opportunities (repeats and referrals). The Group Account Director is accountable for providing management, direction, training, and support to direct reports. Responsibilities also include developing the customer plan for their business unit, forecasting, business development, establishing new business, and growing and maintaining customer relationships as well as for consulting and providing strategic direction for the brand and strategic leadership internally. This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, Lambertville, or San Francisco—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.

Requirements

  • BA/BS required, MBA preferred
  • 4-6+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech marketing
  • 4-6+ years of relevant project management, agency, healthcare, or life sciences experience
  • Supervisory, resource management, client management, and business strategy experience required
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills 3+ years of project team leadership experience preferred
  • Behaviors and qualities of a professional and a lifelong commitment to professional development as demonstrated by a superior ability to manage time, work in a collaborative way, adapt to change, act in a professional manner, manage stress, and demonstrate a service orientation

Responsibilities

  • Drives strategic partnerships with the client via an advanced understanding of overall brand strategy
  • Provides channel insights and recommendations
  • Establishes measurement plan
  • Adjusts strategies based upon market dynamics as well as competitor activities and products
  • Adjusts strategies based upon ROI or ROE of tactics
  • Consults, analyzes, and interprets data as it relates to the peer-to-peer channel and/or overall marketing mix
  • Captures key learnings and provides feedback into mix and channel strategy
  • Actively participates in the brand planning process as requested
  • Maintains ongoing client relationships throughout project execution and beyond
  • Seeks new business opportunities and leads proposal development
  • Oversees quality and ensures repeats and referrals
  • Develops customer strategy, plan and implementation
  • Develops annual forecast and updates
  • Develops a budget for their customer needs
  • Supervises direct reports including setting performance goals, conducting 1:1s, completing reviews, and providing opportunities for professional development
  • Ensures healthy culture, teaming and resource optimization
  • Maintain an advanced, current working knowledge of contract compliance and federal/state regulations in order to: provide functional compliance requirements, answer questions, and give direction; monitor staff adherence to compliance policies and procedures and engage in compliance investigations, if warranted
  • Submit and approve timely and accurate time and expense reports
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
  • Work schedule/hours: work occasional nonstandard work hours as workload demands
  • Travel: this position may require moderate overnight/weekend travel (up to 50%)
  • Participate in sales field rides, speaker programs, advisory boards, customer meetings, and professional organization meetings, as requested
