The Groundskeeping Intern will assist the Head Groundskeeper in the daily maintenance and preparation of the playing surface and stadium grounds. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist with maintaining the playing surface by mowing, edging, fertilizing grassed playing surface areas, and maintaining skinned surfaces. Help repair and maintain the game mound, home plate area, and bullpen mounds. Assist with tarping the field, top dressing, aerating, and general turf maintenance. Support the Head Groundskeeper in maintaining a safe and professional playing surface for players, coaches, and umpires. Learn and assist with field preparation in accordance with MLB, Prospect League, and NCAA rules as they relate to field layout and preparation. Assist with irrigation system monitoring and watering of the field as directed. Maintain grassed areas outside the playing surface but within the stadium by mowing, trimming, and edging. Assist with maintaining indoor mounds and keeping batting cages clean and organized. Help prepare the field for games, batting practice, and other stadium events. Assist with field setup and post-game cleanup and maintenance. Work with the Head Groundskeeper and game day staff to ensure proper field conditions throughout events. Assist other departments within the organization when needed.
