Under supervision, performs a variety of Grounds maintenance and repair functions including but not limited to: litter pick up, cultivating, trimming of shrubs and small trees, fertilizing, planting and irrigation repairs. Operates grounds power tools and machinery. Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate orally, in writing or electronically.
  • Apply problem solving skills and use sound judgment.
  • Knowledge and ability to maintain irrigation systems
  • Skill in operating trenchers, tractors, roto-tillers and other commonly used pieces of power driven grounds equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used Southern California plant material, their cultural requirements, pests and diseases.
  • Ability to effectively work independently or in teams
  • Skill to safely use both hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Ability to follow through and carry out assignments
  • Ability to identify undesirable plant material.
  • Knowledge and skill to operate commonly used grounds equipment and tools.
  • This position requires a valid California Drivers license.
