About The Position

The Grounds Supervisor I is a supervisory and hands-on technical role responsible for the maintenance, safety, and aesthetic appearance of more than 20 acres of facility grounds. This position leads a team of grounds personnel and collaborates with other skilled trades to ensure the optimal upkeep of exterior spaces.

Requirements

• High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of progressive experience in grounds upkeep; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated experience with fertilization methods and with trimming trees and shrubs.
• Demonstrated experience with training others on the safe and proper use and maintenance of grounds equipment.
• Three (3) years of demonstrated experience supervising others, including distributing and managing work assignments, hiring new staff, and managing staff performance.
• Demonstrated experience with the cleaning and repair of on-campus streets and parking lots.
• Demonstrated experience with inventory control of equipment and supplies.
