About The Position

YOUR IMPACT The Grounds Crew member is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-kept outdoor spaces across the facility. This role supports daily operations by performing routine landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, dragging, raking, and seasonal upkeep. Grounds Crew members help create a welcoming environment for all visitors by ensuring outdoor areas are visually appealing, hazard-free, and properly maintained, while working collaboratively with the team and following all safety guidelines. WHAT YOUR DAY MAY LOOK LIKE No two days are the same in this role but every day centers on maintaining safe, high-quality fields and facilities while supporting a positive guest experience across HCC grounds. Your role helps ensure well-maintained facilities, smooth event operations, and a welcoming environment for all participants and guests.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 16 years old required
  • At least two years high school education, or equivalent, required
  • CPR, AED and First Aid certifications required within 90 days

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or general maintenance preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain fields and grounds to ensure safe, clean, and game-ready spaces for events and programming.
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, trimmers, carts, and field tools safely and effectively.
  • Set up athletic fields, including lining, raking, and prepping surfaces for scheduled games and activities.
  • Perform routine property sweeps to remove trash and debris and maintain overall cleanliness.
  • Support concession and restroom operations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and adherence to health guidelines.
  • Assist with basic food service and operate concession equipment as needed.
  • Monitor supplies and equipment, reporting issues or shortages to a supervisor.
  • Respond to challenges and guest needs with professionalism while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Follow all safety policies and emergency procedures at all times.
  • Build positive relationships with staff and participants, fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Attend required meetings, meet attendance expectations, and arrive prepared in proper uniform.
