About The Position

Grounds Porter / Multi-Campus Grounds Maintenance Technician (Hospital Sites) VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE + CLEAN DRIVING RECORD REQUIRED (insurable). Element Turf & Outdoor Solutions, LLC is a fast-growing, locally owned lawn and landscape maintenance company serving commercial and residential clients. We’re hiring a dependable, self-managed Grounds Porter to support a local hospital with multiple campuses. This role is customer-facing and requires professionalism, strong communication, and consistent attendance. Position Overview You will be assigned to hospital properties and travel between multiple campuses during the day to handle routine grounds maintenance, detail work, and property upkeep. This is an independent role—ideal for someone who takes ownership, stays organized, and can work without constant supervision. Schedule / Season Full-time seasonal: March–December Hours: Mon–Fri, 7:30am–4:00pm Overtime may be required (weather/seasonal demand)

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license + clean driving record (must be insurable)
  • Comfortable working independently and staying productive throughout the day
  • Reliable transportation to/from the shop (or designated reporting location)
  • Ability to read and write in English (work notes, directions, basic documentation)
  • Landscaping/grounds maintenance experience required
  • Ability to work outdoors in all conditions and lift 50 lbs regularly

Nice To Haves

  • Illinois Pesticide Applicator License
  • Experience on commercial properties (hospitals, schools, municipal sites)
  • Strong attention to detail and customer-service mindset

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily grounds “porter” duties across multiple facilities, including: Trash/debris pickup, perimeter checks, and keeping entrances/walkways presentable
  • Light landscaping maintenance (weeding, edging, trimming, pruning)
  • Leaf clean-ups and seasonal detail work
  • Mulch touch-ups and seasonal flower/bed maintenance (as needed)
  • Mowing and trimming support when needed (based on site schedule)
  • Drive between campuses safely and efficiently
  • Communicate professionally with hospital contacts and Element supervisors
  • Track work completed and report issues (storm damage, hazards, irrigation leaks, etc.)
  • Operate equipment safely (string trimmer, blower, hedge trimmer, etc.); maintain basic care/cleanliness of tools
