About The Position

Grounds Maintenance Workers perform landscape, garden and greenhouse duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, weeding and snow and ice prevention and removal; and operate hand and power tools, power mowers, tractor mowers, trenching devices, forklifts and hoists. PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2025-002, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL DECEMBER 31ST, 2025. Please refer to the link for more information: https://gov.nv.gov/Newsroom/ExecOrders/Executive-Orders/ This position is with the Department of Administration, State Public Works Division, Buildings and Grounds Section. This position is responsible for grounds maintenance at B&G properties in Carson City and Reno. Duties include mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, pest control, sprinkler repair and maintenance, snow removal, 24-hour on-call duty for snow and ice removal from parking lots and walkways during the winter months in order to keep state employees and the public safe from snow and ice hazards. This position also provides extra services for office moves and special events for State agencies. This essential position is part of the Emergency Response Team and must respond to all emergency situations, such as snow fall, flooding, and after hours call out situations.
