About The Position
Grounds Equipment Operators operate a variety of gas and diesel powered equipment used for grounds maintenance and minor construction activities. The Nevada Department of Veterans Services, Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery is recruiting for a Grounds Equipment Operator 2 position. This position is located in Fernley and is required to perform semi-skilled equipment maintenance and repair, carpentry, electrical and plumbing work. Duties include operating a variety of equipment to perform burial site preparation, burials, landscaping duties, facilities repair and maintenance, and irrigation repair and maintenance. Equipment used includes backhoes, compact excavator, dump truck, utility carts, casket lowering device, sod cutter, tamper, industrial riding lawn mower, blowers, trimmers, sprayers, and hand tools.
