About The Position

The Groundman plays a critical support role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission and distribution systems. This position involves assisting linemen by preparing and organizing tools, equipment, and materials necessary for job completion, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed. The Groundman is responsible for performing physically demanding tasks such as climbing utility poles and ladders, handling hand tools, and managing materials on-site. This role requires close coordination with team members to facilitate efficient workflow and timely project completion. Ultimately, the Groundman contributes to maintaining reliable electrical infrastructure that serves communities across California.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding labor including climbing poles and ladders safely.
• Proven experience or training in the use of hand tools and basic construction or utility work.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Willingness to wear and comply with safety equipment requirements such as hard hats.
• Legal authorization to work in California.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working in electrical transmission or utility line support roles.
• Familiarity with transmission systems and utility industry safety standards.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and terminology.
• Certification in OSHA safety training or equivalent.
• Ability to operate additional equipment such as power tools or machinery.

Responsibilities

• Assist linemen by preparing and organizing tools, equipment, and materials for electrical transmission and distribution work.
