About The Position

Performs various manual labor for park maintenance projects, facility upkeep and related tasks. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.

Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Read SDS safety sheets, cleaning product application and safe handling instructions.
Ability to read and write English
Ability to communicate needs and understand directives.
18 years and older.

Nice To Haves

Experience with facility maintenance projects preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
Completes park maintenance projects, in-house construction projects and stewardship activities.
Clean and set-up two meeting rooms.
Clean Office spaces and common areas.
Keeps park clean.
Maintains landscaping areas.
Works with small power equipment (log splitter, a brush mower, and weed whacker).
Work with volunteers and individuals completing community service.
Wear personal protective equipment.
Performs manual labor and custodial duties in all aspects of park facility maintenance.
Follow Homewood-Flossmoor Park District policies and guidelines.
Reports to supervisor any safety concerns noticed in parks and facilities.
Assist with special events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Evening, weekend and holiday work may be required.
Other related job duties as assigned.
