About The Position

Ground Engineers at our rock crushing quarry perform physically demanding tasks essential to daily operations. Work is primarily outdoors and requires physical strength, endurance, and adherence to safety protocols. Material Handling: Load and unload rocks, sand, gravel, and other materials manually or with hand tools (shovels, rakes). Secure loads on trucks using chains, straps, or tie-down devices. Move materials with wheelbarrows or hand trucks. Stack, organize, and maintain materials in designated areas. Remove debris and waste materials from the worksite. Equipment Operation Assistance: Assist heavy equipment operators (loaders, excavators, conveyors) as a spotter or guide during operations. Perform pre-operation checks on equipment (fluid levels, tire pressure) under supervision. Learn basic operation of equipment as opportunities arise. Cleaning & Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work site by removing debris, sweeping, and shoveling. Clean around equipment and machinery to prevent material buildup. Perform basic maintenance tasks (lubrication, filter changes) under supervision. Maintain storage areas and ensure proper organization of materials. Safety Compliance: Follow all company and MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) safety regulations and procedures. Use required PPE at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, safety boots, gloves). Identify and report safety hazards to supervisors immediately. Participate in safety training programs and meetings. General Labor: Perform physically demanding tasks as assigned, including shoveling, digging, raking, lifting, and carrying heavy objects. Operate hand and power tools as trained. Assist with equipment maintenance and repair activities. Perform site cleanup and general maintenance tasks. Other duties as assigned.
