SUMMARY The Ground Controller/Load Team member assists the Flight engineers and students in all phases of pre-flight and aircraft loading/unloading training. The Ground Controller must have a working knowledge of C-130 aircraft maintenance operations.

Requirements

  • Position requires a high school diploma or GED and one (1) year of directly related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and related experience.
  • Must have a working knowledge of C-130 aircraft maintenance operations.
  • 5-skill level C-130 maintenance experience required.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to work shift work and overtime as required.
  • Material Handling Equipment Operation experience
  • Knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems; concepts and application of maintenance directives and data reporting; using technical data; Air Force supply procedures; and proper handling, use and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
  • Basic communication skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents.
  • Basic math skills. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, fractions, percentages and ratios to practical situations.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion.
  • Must be able to receive and maintain a flight line driver’s license.
  • Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.
  • Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.
  • Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.
  • Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.
  • All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds over head.
  • Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and/or ladder.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top or under the device.
  • Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic certification is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting C-130 aircraft.
  • Serve as a liaison to the US Air Force maintenance personnel.
  • Assist the C-130 ATS student training, including preflight training and aircraft loading/unloading training.
  • Assist Flight engineers during all phases of -1 preflight training
  • Operate/Drive required MHE (Material Handling Equipment) as required
  • Assist aircraft loading and un-loading.
