About The Position
Chino Valley Animal Hospital, part of the Suveto network of hospitals and located in Chino Valley, AZ is looking for experienced full-time Groomer to join our Team! About Chino Valley Animal Hospital: Chino Valley Animal Hospital is a state-of-the-art veterinary facility in Chino Valley, AZ. We serve animal-lovers and their pets in our community. Our clinic is a welcoming and friendly place for pets and owners alike, filled with smiling faces and experienced, compassionate veterinary professionals. We’re proud of our beautiful clinic, with its spacious waiting room and exam rooms, clean environment for optimal health and the latest in veterinary technology. We feel that this reflects our commitment to providing each pet that comes through our doors with the utmost care and attention. Our Groomers perform grooming services including but not limited to bathing, cutting, shaving, trimming, nail trimming, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, brushing, and finishing cats and dogs. Closely interact with clients and patients and provide excellent customer service. The groomer is also responsible for accommodating any special requests from the owner and informing owners of any health problems discovered during the grooming process. The position is commission based, with the Groomer making their own schedule. All supplies except clippers, blades and shears are provided.
Requirements
- Applicants should be certified
- Prior grooming experience is required.
- Must have the ability to groom large, overly excited, or frightened dogs while preventing injury
- Must have familiarity with animal behavior to determine an animal's behavior and use techniques to keep them calm and safe
Responsibilities
- Bathing and clipping dogs to conform to a variety of breed-specific standard styles
- Detangling and removing matted hair
- Drying the coat
- Checking for parasites and other skin conditions
- Trimming nails
- Cleaning the ears
- Expressing anal sacs
- Brushing teeth
