About The Position

To perform maintenance and repair of all equipment responsible to the department by following proper maintenance program and repair procedures at an in-house vehicle and equipment repair shop while maintaining a friendly and helpful relationship with other departments. Summer season includes teardown and repair of all equipment such as groomers, plows, over the road vehicles and heavy equipment. Winter season includes maintaining an operational fleet to provide other departments with the equipment needed to perform their jobs. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employees' job is to get and keep guests.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be capable of troubleshooting and repairing equipment and have an understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively within a professional manner.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and to solve practical problems.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Resort Certification for any used equipment.
  • Inspection license or willing to get one with company assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy equipment repair experience is preferred and welding and fabrication is a plus.
  • CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation of equipment by completing necessary repairs, troubleshooting and proper record keeping.
  • Responsibilities include working as a fleet mechanic and grooming machine mechanic.
  • Determines feasibility of and method of repair by knowledge and review of equipment specifications and requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by following company safety policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to team effort and shop morale by demonstrating a positive and cooperative attitude and performing duties as assigned.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using shop equipment.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending seminars and training courses.
  • Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
  • Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.
  • Rotating on call shift for emergency repairs after hours; the majority of equipment is new and with proper summer service, emergency call ins are manageable.
  • Assist with other delegated projects.
  • Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Loon Mountain Resort guests at all times.
  • Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
  • Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
  • Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
  • Drive in accordance with the law and Loon Mountain Resort policies.
