The Grocery Manager is responsible for the effective overall operation of the Grocery Department to achieve established sales and profit goals.

Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs especially during times of high volume and/or stress
  • Must be able to read and do simple math problems
  • Wants to be part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • 18 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Previous grocery department experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers within 10 feet and respond to questions promptly
  • Provide accurate product information and recommendations
  • Schedule associates based on truck schedules and department needs
  • Monitor associate time to reduce overtime and ensure punctuality and compliance with time clock policies
  • Train new personnel and ensure associates follow safety policies
  • Follow inventory count policies and order necessary supplies regularly
  • Control ordering to maintain stock levels and maximize sales
  • Receive, price and restock merchandise, maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Review invoices for accuracy and record them properly
  • Manage inventory for freshness, product rotation, and profitability
  • Ensure shelves, coolers, and displays are fully stocked, faced, and organized
  • Build and maintain store displays for maximum sales
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products per company policy
  • Check temperatures in refrigerated areas each shift and complete logs
  • Operate pallet jack, baler, floor scrub machine, and trash compactor
  • Ensure equipment functions properly and report maintenance issues promptly
  • Clean and organize stockroom daily; sweep and mop as needed
  • Monitor the area for hazards and maintain a safe environment
  • Adhere to scheduled hours and perform additional duties as assigned
