Within the Department of Environmental Protection, the State Parks, Forest Service, Forest Fire Service, Natural Lands Management and State Park Police work together to provide equitable and responsible access to the state’s natural, historic and recreational resources. Through the implementation of best practices in stewardship, education, interpretation, law enforcement and forest protection, we ensure the conservation, protection and understanding of these resources. Project Description: Perform outdoor fieldwork including trail and site maintenance, condition monitoring, and documentation. Provide planning or mapping support and assist with internal project activities related to greenway operations, with limited office-based tasks as needed. Specific to the Position: Interest in outdoor, environmental, or community-focused work. Ability to perform basic physical tasks outdoors and follow safety procedures and instructions. Basic organizational and computer skills; familiarity with mapping or GIS is a plus but not required. Preferred Area of Study: Seeking individuals enrolled at an accredited university/college studying Environmental Sciences/Studies, Natural Resource Management, GIS, Environmental/Community Planning, Environmental Policy, Sustainability, Ecology, Physical Geography, or Biology.
