About The Position

The Green Coffee Team Member supports Peet's roasting operations by ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of all green coffee from arrival through roasting. The Green Coffee Team Member plays a key part in maintaining product quality and food safety standards, operating warehouse equipment, executing daily production schedules, and keeping the facility organized and compliant. The position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to SOPs and safety protocols, and effective communication with cross-functional production, quality, and engineering teams. Note that this role is a second shift role, with hours from 3:30 pm-12 am.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing/production setting and/or a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous sit-down forklift driving experience and/or license.
  • Reliable, punctual, professional
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and results-driven
  • In able condition to work 8-hour shifts while standing, lifting, bending, and reaching

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of coffee industry experience is strongly desired.
  • Basic manufacturing equipment familiarity and setup is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Load, blend, package, and store green coffee according to daily production schedules and SOPs.
  • Inspect inbound green coffee shipments, document findings, and report any quality, food safety, or inventory irregularities to appropriate leaders.
  • Safely unload trucks and operate warehouse equipment, including powered lift trucks, Strong Arm equipment, and tumble drum machinery.
  • Maintain accurate completion of all quality, food safety, and sanitation tasks, including GMPs, SSOPs, and shutdown procedures.
  • Perform material management, housekeeping, and sanitation duties to ensure a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.
  • Identify and report equipment, production, workplace safety, or process issues to supervisors, QA, and engineering as required.
  • Follow all written and verbal instructions and demonstrate the ability to use computers for required tasks and documentation.
  • Support operations outside the Green Warehouse when assigned and attend all required safety and production trainings and meetings.
