About The Position

Assists press operators to ensure production of quality Gravure press products by gathering, loading/unloading materials and finished products; to ensure standards are being met. Learns to perform the job duties assigned to the press operator, to fill in when needed. Learn to set up and operate a Gravure press to produce high quality products.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work collaboratively with co-workers.

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to address issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas, information and or work assignments with co-workers and management as needed.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32” and a metric ruler to 1mm.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
  • Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
  • Coordinates efforts as part of the team to provide assistance to all co-workers in all departments to maximize production efficiencies as needed.
  • Must have the ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1 mm.
  • Trains co-workers and new hires to set up, operate and use equipment.
  • Retrieves or receives necessary materials such as paper, inks, plates, cylinders, etc. and sets up press in accordance with job specifications and customer requirements.
  • As directed by Press Operator, assists in producing quality products by providing support/helper activities such as adjusting press, loading/unloading materials, stacking stock, moving finished/scrap product, and getting supplies.
  • Learns to mix inks and mixes as needed.
  • Assists in and learns to set-up a Gravure press as directed by operator and learns to produce non-complex high quality products.
  • Operates hand truck and hand tools.
  • Applies mechanical ability to adjust press and to troubleshoot various problems.
  • Maintains all equipment by performing routine maintenance and cleaning.
