About The Position

Graphic Design Development Manager Founded in 1919 as Phototype and recently rebranded as the Olberding Brand Family, we are a family company focused on delivering the highest quality and client service in the graphics design, management and printing industry. We Design, Optimize and Protect Brands. Our clients are primarily consumer products companies and printers and we help them by delivering a broad range of services from brand strategy and packaging design, to adaptive design across various print and digital platforms, all the way to color management and the production of printing plates. With our world headquarters located in Cincinnati, we have over 450 employees throughout the United States and offices in Europe and Asia. The Graphics Project Manager supports Olberding’s client, Welch’s, and has overall accountability for ensuring projects exceed client expectations while balancing Olberding’s internal objectives. The primary objectives of the role are to assist assigned groups at Welch’s with projects produced by Olberding, and provide print expertise to ensure the project’s success. The Graphics Project Manager facilitates proper design assessment and feedback to the client regarding potential production issues. While on-site at the client, the Graphics Project Manager supports the internal Olberding team and client’s teams as central artwork project manager across brands in a responsive, efficient, effective, accurate manner. This position requires a highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented professional who also has ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously all while anticipating client needs.

Requirements

  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Customer service mindset: passionate about servicing the client
  • Skilled proofreader
  • Proficient use of the Apple operating system including knowledge of business software such as Office and Acrobat
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management, customer service or packaging print production management
  • Consumer product company knowledge or experience

Responsibilities

  • Partner and establish strong relationships with Welch’s cross functional teams, including brand, marketing, legal and regulatory, supply chain and packaging engineers
  • Responsible for the gathering of information and materials needed to kick off a project or start a piece of art
  • Route, track and execute project deliverables
  • Creates project estimates and acquire POs
  • Review the appropriate checklist(s) to ensure all pieces or materials are validated prior to project kick off
  • Own confirmation of print feasibility for designs
  • Explain client/project objectives and deliverables
  • Collect feedback and/or rejections and ensure accuracy with design managers, and communicate changes to the Olberding team
  • Maintain a master artwork project schedule across all platforms and monitor project progress, deliverables, quality assurance, and customer service
  • Coordinate planning, development and documentation to ensure timely deliverables, job/project success and quality
  • Upload artwork for approval process
  • Acts as administrator for the file routing system and provide training as needed
  • Demonstrates forward thinking about possible challenges related to a project
  • Champion the communication as it relates to color development of master images, color standards and brand intent
  • Manage weekly graphics meetings with cross-functional teams and send follow-ups and next steps
