About The Position

SAGE’s Finance Department is seeking a Grants Associate who is eager to grow and develop their career in nonprofit grants management while supporting our mission to advocate for and serve LGBTQ+ older adults. The Grants Associate will be part of a grants management team of three within a larger finance department of eight and will manage a portfolio of government and private grants while providing general grants management support to the department.

Requirements

  • Some relevant work experience in accounting or grants management, or a bachelors degree in a related subject, with a strong desire to build skills and grow in this field.
  • Strong organizational skills – the ability to manage, prioritize and follow-through on multiple tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Strong fluency in MS Excel, plus ability to learn Intacct, Salesforce, or other pertinent software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and SharePoint/One Drive.
  • Passion for advancing dignity, belonging, and justice for LGBTQ+ elders and communities of color.
  • Flexibility – the ability to adjust to shifting priorities

Responsibilities

  • Provide general support for the contract enrollment process: Gather certificates of insurance, route documents/forms for signature via Docusign, and submit documents via various government contract management platforms.
  • Manage a specific portfolio of government contracts and private grants: Prepare monthly grant spending reports in Excel, disseminate monthly reports to team members within SAGE, and respond to questions and support requests related to grant spending.
  • Assist with the preparation of government invoices: Gather and collate expense documentation, prepare required forms, and maintain complete and well-organized records of supporting documentation.
  • Support the Sr. Director of Grants, Contracts and Compliance and the Contracts and Grant Manager with grant management and other finance department tasks as needed.
  • Provide support to the Sr. Director of Grants, Contracts, and Compliance on sensitive matters related to workforce planning.
