About The Position

The Grants & Stewardship Specialist plays a critical role in advancing the Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s fundraising goals by managing the organization’s institutional grant program and implementing a comprehensive donor stewardship program. Reporting to the Director of Development, this position oversees the full lifecycle of grant funding, including prospect research, proposal development, submission, compliance tracking, and reporting. In addition, the position manages a systematic stewardship engagement strategy for donors across the Conservancy’s database to ensure meaningful, timely, and consistent communication that demonstrates the impact of their philanthropic support. The role develops and implements stewardship methodology that aligns with nonprofit best practices and strengthens long-term donor relationships. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in grant writing, nonprofit development, fundraising, or related field.
  • Demonstrated success in securing grant funding or developing competitive grant proposals.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Strong research and analytical skills for identifying and evaluating funding opportunities.
  • Ability to translate complex programmatic information into compelling grant proposals and donor communications.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience working with donor databases and CRM systems (Altru preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Monday.com.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff across multiple departments.
  • Passion for environmental conservation and the mission of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
